Surf learning demands lots of paddling, and this is the hardest part so to ensure that you train on the upper body cardio which is extremely important. Ensure that you get a balanced board, this is to ensure that you practice weight distribution and also practice the relaxed balancing. This will also help in balance toning of your legs and keep them in shape. Your instructor should include this in the learning lessons so that he can show you how to do that, the information is contained in DVD’s showing you how it is done, and this should be done at least 15-20 minutes on daily basis. You can start by practicing on the shallow waters about 4-6ft deep before you advance to the deeper waters, this will help your body to feel relaxed. Work on your flexibility by doing yoga.
